Its been a long time since I had went to any event as a networking event for a long long time; and yesterday, participation in UXSG’s meetup at Carousell had bring back that mojo, excitement and a different sense of reality.

Very comfortable experience for me, since I’m already an experienced UX practitioner (without actually tagging that term to my name) – the opportunity to meet people, talk, network, connect and learn from one another had brought me out of my proverbial cave, back to civilisation.

I had sort of secluded myself from the “outside” world for the past many years, and the false starts to do networking again had not been helpful. But with recent developments of my business breaking even, my business getting my old partner back as well as virtual conclusion of the projects that had been dragging through the mud for the past half a year – its nigh time to start connecting again – and to start having an updated reality of the business environment.

While I had not been “outclassed” at all, I can feel the desire in me to further improve on my knowledge in design and business; and to develop proprietary materials that I can impart and further position myself as subject experts.

I will return to their next meetup; and meanwhile, finding more events that I can expand myself on.
