The irony of “helping designers”

Every time someone try to get a “good deal” out of the designers; the designers are cutting their own flesh to give you a good deal.

And the designers, as a result, earn lesser, can never (or hardly) grow bigger or better. They have no resources to upgrade, to improve their softwares, to improve their hardwares – they can’t hire more people – thus, you can never get better and improved service over time.

While as much as it seems like you are “giving them business”, “helping them and become rich together” – that is actually not the case. Because one day, you will realise that you have outgrown your vendors, grudge that they cannot serve you to your needs or heightened expectations; you would confidently create a bigger budget and give it to a bigger agency to do your “bigger” work.

So isnt it awkward when some people return to find the “nice designers” just because they are perceived to be cheap / cheaper, and then realised that these nice people now “undeservedly overvalue themselves and their services”. I wonder how should these designers feel man…
