Anger boiling over…

Of recent times, I have seen Singaporeans anger boiling beyond proportions – beyond what made logical sense; their anger, almost bordering non-sense.

Today, LTA launched a new taxi app: called Taxi-Taxi@SG. The outcry just pisses me off.

When it was first announced, people are pissed!

Ppl are strange. First they are disappointed LTA is creating an app which they mistakenly deem are going to be a competitor to existing taxi booking app – thus stiffening the scene.

Then it turns out that its just a app that help ppl to discover if there is enough cabs in the area so that people can make an informed decision to either wait for one or to just give up and take public transport.

The same people started to whine and feel disappointed that the app cannot allow them to book the taxis.

Come on, this is LTA. Its not their job to create competing apps against taxi companies (which they tax on) and the tech companies. Its their job to help make transportation more transparent and predictable.

While trying to correct people’s misconception and their extreme negativity – people saw my defense of LTA and assumed that I’m a PAP crony and that I am part of the team whom designed the app (please loh… I am not. I’m not a developer nor had I worked on any apps before)

What happened is akin to : Boeing built a passenger plane. Ppl say its useless because it can fly, but cannot shoot planes down, and bomb ships & cities to smithereens. And then when I point out that this is a passenger plane, its purpose it not to fight but to carry people – they ask me if I am involved with the designing of the plane.

Dafug…

And then when I point out that this is a passenger plane, its purpose it not to fight but to carry people – they ask me if I am involved with the designing of the plane.

and then I finally saw this while writing this post:

At least I am glad that there are still some wise people around….
