I had a sudden realisation about parenthood.
Its that at the end of the day, as we evaluate how we lived our lives and how well a parent had we been – the very word we call it is “legacy”
What legacy are you leaving behind for your children?
Some legacy may be possessions, others their life work, in some unique ones the influence they had on the world, society and the people around, in which the children can reap from it and blossom from what its laid for them.
And so what if there is no legacy to leave behind? What you have no possessions or money to leave behind? What you realised that you had simply enjoyed the entire life away and ends up with nothing to show for it than “glorious” deeds that are nothing to brag about.
I would say, try to life a positive memory in the end days, a positive influence, and a final nudge for the children towards their own individual success…
…. Because if not, life would have been a failure.
